How many of you agree that the media is partial towards some events. To cite an example, recently, in India, media gave very little attention to the smoking ban at public places while the Lakme India Fashion week was in the limelight everywhere.

Yes, i think so that media is partial. Just how much coverage do the celebrities get and how the issues of importance are put on the backburner. Have you ever wondered?

I agree. The media seems to favour sporting events far more than anything else that is going on in the world. Quite bizarre!

I also agree that media IS partial...Mostly it is said that media shows only whta we want to see or what is in demand...but i dont completely agree with this...people say that gossip works...but for how long....ultimately we need facts...The Lakme India Fashion Week was indeed a very hyped event. I don't know how much business did they get...but they sure got the publicity.
