Huh.. initial euphorio only and that has fizzled out now.

But still there are some crazy folks who are buying and selling gmail account on ebay. Couple of days back I saw hacker@gmail.com being sold at ebay at significant amount.

I do have gmail account, it was just an excitement for few initial days.

Just my 2 cents. Twisted Evil

Recently, i came across an article according to which Google has changed its membership policy to prevent people from selling, trading, or transferring email account for commercial purpose.

Go to ebay and any forum you would find people trading for Gmail account. Its more of specific names than accounts.

I know this might sound kinda weird to you guys but i managed to sell my GMail account for $200USD. I didnt have any fancy login Id, but it was just my frist name, and the other person was willing to pay me $200USD for it.

I personally dont understand the hue & cry about the gmail account. Now there are so many providers offering the same services like gmail. Agreed gmail has some nice features and its very easy to use especially the keyboard shortcuts, but i'm more of a POP3 email person so i didnt use gmail much.

It is indeed weird, garcons...people can spend hefty amount just to get their first name on the email account...though i was myself very excited to get it myself initially, but on second thoughts all the email accounts are just the same...i don't think there is much value addition save for the increased space which now everyone is offering as a result of competition.

I'm not a big fan of the web based email myself coz i use Pop3 so i virtually have unlimited webspace. re the incresaing space, i think mostly ppl are not after space, they are after features, so if we compare rediffmail & gmail (both offering 1gb of mail) ppl will opt for gmail coz of the features it provides.
