What do you think about British Rule?

i have been wondering from a long time, has the English rule on india worked out to be better for india. Though they have ruled us for so many years, with their atrocities & exploitation, racism.

But i understand & have heard from many people that, if British wouldn't have ruled us then today we wouldn't have been a one big country but rather would have divided into many small countries. Also the law, education & technology which did come from them has helped india in the future, as indians being the greatest minds, no need of proof for that, the education system should be given some credit for it. English might be the greatest gift, As is the only language in which the whole india communicates nationally & internationally.

I am angry for what they have done as well as appreciate the fact that due to British rule (though unintentionally), today India has become a big & prosperous nation.

What are you views?
