Cricket matches with Pakistan always have a premium attached to them in terms of more enthu, more viewership et al. This was quite evident in Kochi yesterday when the 80,000 odd audience were cheering for India despite extremely hot weather and no shade whatsoever in the stadium. But they were aptly rewarded with an Indian win, in the first one-dayer between India and Pakistan.
Sehwag was the man of the match and quite aptly so...he was the hero onthe ground, scored another century and performed his level best. But so was Dravid for that matter. Ganguly disappointed again! But for our little master, Sachin Tendulkar, the grounds proved lucky once again as he took five wickets and all those were important ones so to say. On the Pak side, Shohaib was missed quite a lot, and it surprised me why Shahid Afridi was not there as an opening batsman. But that all worked in India's favour.
Hope that India wins this series too...what's your gutfeel on the issue? |
