Soon after coming to term the second time around, US President George Bush has requested a huge sum of money, $80 billion to fight wars in Iraq and Afganistan. This step seems like a continuing of Bush's policy on war, for which he was criticized so much during the election campaign. But that does not seem to dampen his spirit.
What do you feel about the whole scenario...Do you think it is a step in the right direction or just another way of imposing superiority on other nations? |

With this latest $80 Bn, the total fund to Iraq would hit around $ 280Bn. It means that approx 1000 dollars per person including woman and child in US. Just wondering how many families of 4 people have to spend $4000 to help Mr Bush in his so called Iraqi crusade. Now this $4000 tax liability per family, I feel is bit too much...
Instead it would have been great on Mr Bush part, if such amount of money is spent on providing medical aid to some needy people. We have so many people in US suffering from Mesothelioma, asbestos exposure, other such chronic cancerous disease. These people not only need medical attention, but also need a lot of encouragement, help and legal guidance as well.
I strongly feel that this amount should be channelized in right direction and for help of needy.
