Hey Dsha,
Have you ever noticed, some IT companies have strict rules, that when you apply for jobs in their company, You are not supposed to attach your resume, but instead just paste it in the text area and send it to them.
Why according to you would a company have such a policy, when it is so easy that the person can send his resume in a neat fasion as a .doc file. |

I do agree with Ritesh on this one, there are some companies who do insist that you send them your resume in text format and not as attachment...That may be because of the bandwidth consumption i presume...and yes also to keep away those bloody virueses and worms |

| I case of email sorry dude i have not come across any such company. The only time when i had to paste the resume is when i had to fill a kind web based form on the company website where they have given the text are for your resume & there are no options to upload. But even if you are true how can you say that the company policy is to strip off all attachments. In your example they might have that for security purpose, becasue any one can apply for a job, no body knows what kind of attachments might be with the mails. But what about the people they know, how do you know that this for the whole company |

| I would personally prefer to send and receive plain text mails...for the obvious reason that it solves the purpose of easy and to the point communication. |

Matt, at times you need much more than just point to point communication and acc to me , plain text could get pretty boring too.
Dsha9, if you come across the stuff on a website, how do you think would the company rep's receive your application. basically the website would send them an email in plain text (minus attachments). Yes, the attachments could be of any kind, but they could have a policy that allows only .doc files, and no .scr files or any scripting files. |

| garcons i totally agree with you on the above, but that is only for the people who are applying for the job, how can you tell that the users in the company are also no allowed to receive any attachments, or all the attachments they receive are stripped, e.g from a client, or any other organsation. |
