How many of us in here use Email clients to check their mails? I'm sure most people who use clients prefer HTML based emails.
I cant re-collect where I read this, but according to geeks, people who used HTML based emails are fools and use up a lot of bandwidth. Acc to them, everyone should stick to Plain text for emails. I have tried using plain text at times, but i so hate it. I'm so particular about my font style and font color, and not to forget the font size.
What do you prefer HTML based emails or Plain text? |

| I have also heard experts recommending to use plain text mails for the reason garcons has cited, i.e. HTML emails do take up a lot of bandwidth...but i prefer using HTML only, however i will also add that it all also depends on whom i am sending the mails to - for work i may use plain text, but for other personal purposes i use HTML. |

Whatever geeks may say but i always prefer using HTML based mails. It is a personal choice irrespective of the bandwidth fact.
In fact when i have time, i like to spice my mails up with stationary and colours. Isn't that lively? |

Both have their motives and one can not ridicule one for other.
For day to day mails text should be used, but for specific purpose or may be to have more clarity RTF/HTML should be used.
So as needed I prefer both of them |

Charu yeah sure is lively, but for some odd reason, i so hate those flasy backgrouns with tons of emoticons, **Not to offend ** Just my personal taste!!
RF, Its just a matter of choice, somehow i find plain text very very plain, all i want to add is a particular font (Trebuchet MS) and navy blue color. |

dude who cares, with broadband who care how much bandwith it takes. how much kb will one html page. How can you say html pages take a lot of bandwith. if you compare it to flash websites they are peanuts, now with the broadband now so common it does not make a bit of a difference what ever you use. |

a) Not everyone is with broadband mate !!
b) Every KB counts If you send 1024 mails, you would make up 1MB.
And yes, you are right it wouldnt really really make a difference to us, but yes in the corporate sector, every eMail sent makes a difference.
Infact, I cant remember this the name of this Indian CEO who has this policy in his company that there should be no attachments in the eMails, only plain text.
Beat That!! |

but when i have broadband why would i think of plain text. anysways we were talking in general , ya may be in coporate sector it would make a difference, but similarly they are more equipped, get me the name of the ceo & i'll find about how true it is. & then you can say beat that!
